Art to Unwind Workshops
Art to Unwind
Stress winds us up tight. Creativity helps us unwind. Art to Unwind is a guided healing art experience designed to help participants release stress, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with curiosity and creativity. Through simple, playful art exercises, participants leave feeling more relaxed, grounded, and creatively refreshed.
I’ve been encouraged to expand my healing art workshops in the Houston area—and I’m saying yes. These workshops are about more than just making art; they’re about creating space for healing, reflection, and joy. Each one is different and can be 1 –4 hours long and includes a hands-on art experience paired with a meaningful message. No Art experience required.
Who It’s For:
Groups and teams wanting a fun, creative, and meaningful activity
Residents in senior living communities seeking enrichment and connection
Employees looking for stress relief and mental wellness
Recovery groups for healing and grounding

💌 1) Love Notes to the Heart (3 hours)
This workshop helps reframe negative thoughts, release stress, build connection, and nurture a positive outlook. Repetitive negative self-talk can sometimes turn into harmful core beliefs. We’ll use words, glue, and recycled paper art to create a “Love Note” that speaks with kindness to your heart.
🎨 2) Letting Go of Outcomes (4 hours)
Ready to play with bold color and loosen up creatively? This joyful workshop uses abstract squeegee painting to help you let go of expectations and stay present. It’s messy, it’s meaningful, and it’s a lot of fun! We’ll squirt, squish, and spread paint—then step back to see something beautiful emerge.
🌈 3) The Flow of Color and Light (4 hours)
Through watercolor and ink techniques, this workshop reflects on past wounds and celebrates the light within you. It’s a quiet, flowing experience designed to help you reconnect with your unique story. There’s even a surprise gift at the end!
🧣 4) The Veil of Denial (3 hours)
Denial often protects us from pain—but it can also block healing. In this workshop, we gently explore the role of denial in trauma while learning how to paint and dye silk scarves using alcohol inks and markers. You’ll leave with a beautiful, wearable reminder that you are wrapped in love and beauty.
🖍️ 5) bILATERAL ART FOR SELF-CARE & NERVOUS SYSTEM SUPPORT (2 hours)
Bilateral art uses mirrored movements with both hands to gently engage both sides of the brain, supporting regulation and integration. In this soothing, music-filled experience, we’ll explore color, rhythm, and movement to help calm the nervous system, increase mindfulness, and create a felt sense of balance and ease.
