ART TO UNWIND

Guided Creative ART Experiences by Robin K

Stress winds us up tight. Creativity helps us unwind. Art to Unwind is a guided healing art experience designed to help participants release stress, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with curiosity and creativity. Through simple, playful art exercises, participants leave feeling more relaxed, grounded, and creatively refreshed.

Art to Unwind offers guided creative experiences designed to help people slow down, play, connect and enjoy the process of making something — no art experience required.

Some workshops are simply fun and social. Others invite reflection, connection or a deeper sense of calm. Each experience is thoughtfully guided by professional artist and illustrator Robin K, with an emphasis on making creativity approachable for everyone.

Creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes it can be playful. Sometimes calming. Sometimes surprising. And sometimes, even healing. This is an opportunity to get out of our heads and into our hands.

1) Love Notes to the Heart (3 hours)

This workshop helps reframe negative thoughts, release stress, build connection, and nurture a positive outlook. Repetitive negative self-talk can sometimes turn into harmful core beliefs. We’ll use words, glue, and recycled paper art to create a “Love Note” that speaks with kindness to your heart.

2) Letting Go of Outcomes — Squeegee Art (3 hours)

What happens when you choose your colors, make a plan…and then let the paint do what it wants? This playful workshop uses squeegee painting to explore color, movement and the unexpected. Participants learn the technique, experiment with layering and discover how much fun it can be to loosen their grip on the outcome. It’s colorful, a little unpredictable and a great reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to go according to plan.

3) The Flow of Color and Light (4 hours)

Through watercolor and ink techniques, this workshop reflects on past wounds and celebrates the light within you. It’s a quiet, flowing experience designed to help you reconnect with your unique story. There’s even a surprise gift at the end!

4) bILATERAL ART FOR SELF-CARE & NERVOUS SYSTEM SUPPORT (2 hours)

Bilateral art uses mirrored movements with both hands to gently engage both sides of the brain, supporting regulation and integration. In this soothing, music-filled experience, we’ll explore color, rhythm, and movement to help calm the nervous system, increase mindfulness, and create a felt sense of balance and ease.

5) SPREADING THE LOVE (3hours)

A creative experience centered around connection, reflection and the people who help us feel safe, supported and loved. Using alcohol inks on silk scarves, participants explore circles of connection — from self and inner child to safe relationships, boundaries and growth — while creating a beautiful wearable piece of art. The process is colorful and expressive, with plenty of room for each person to make the experience their own.

6) A Bouquet of Connection (2-3hours)

One person. Many flowers. One beautiful bouquet. Created originally for a bridal shower, this collaborative experience invites each guest to contribute a flower to a shared bouquet. As the individual flowers come together, the finished artwork becomes a visual representation of the people surrounding someone with love and support. Perfect for bridal and baby showers, milestone birthdays, retirement celebrations, women’s gatherings or any occasion where you want to create a meaningful keepsake together.

7)Pup Art (4hours)

Turn your favorite four-legged friend into a colorful work of art has quickly become my most requested workshop ! Participants begin by experimenting with the squeegee painting technique, then create a vibrant background for a personalized portrait of their own pet. A prepared image makes the drawing process approachable even for complete beginners. It’s part painting, part play and completely personal — a wonderful choice for private parties, friend groups and pet lovers.

8)growing something beautiful together

Relationships, like anything we want to grow, need attention, care and nurturing In this creative couples experience, partners work together to paint and decorate a flowerpot — practicing collaboration, communication and the sometimes imperfect process of creating something together. At the end of the experience, each couple plants mint in their finished pot as a living reminder of what they want to continue nurturing in their relationship. Meaningful, hands-on and a little playful, this workshop is especially suited for couples retreats, relationship groups and other gatherings centered around connection and growth.

9) Beauty from the Unexpected — Oyster Shell Art (2-3 hours)

Something beautiful can come from the most unexpected places. In this hands-on mixed-media experience, participants transform natural oyster shells into beautiful, one-of-a-kind trinket dishes using paint, decorative papers and creative details. The workshop can simply be enjoyed as a relaxing, social art experience — or incorporate the symbolism of the oyster: taking something rough, imperfect or unexpected and transforming it into something beautiful. Perfect for women’s gatherings, retreats, private parties and groups looking for a creative experience with the option for a little deeper meaning.

10) Draw • Reflect • Remember (2-3 hours)

Sometimes giving our hands something simple to do gives our minds a place to rest.In this calming creative experience, participants divide their paper into sections and fill the spaces with doodles, patterns, repeated shapes and lines. The focus isn't on drawing something perfectly — it's on slowing down, following the marks and enjoying the repetitive process. Once the artwork is complete, circles are punched from the finished pages to create small “takeaways.” Participants add meaningful words, thoughts or reminders from their experience and collect them in a jar to bring home. A beautiful combination of creativity, reflection and mindfulness — especially meaningful for retreats, wellness groups and gatherings centered around personal growth.
